
Marco Camisani Calzolari, aged 43, has been involved in the internet sector for 16 years, as an entrepreneur, as an academic studying communication phenomena, advisor and as a writer.
He has founded several companies in Italy and abroad, both in B2B and B2C areas.
Teaching Professor at Milan IULM university, he teaches the course on Corporate Communication and Digital Languages in the Communication [LINK], PR and Advertising Faculty. He taught Digital Marketing and Communication techniques at the Università Statale di Milano until 2010.
Through his companies, he has acted as consultant on the digital activities of numerous businesses, including IKEA, ATM, Mondadori and others.
His research on real value of social networks has received coverage from some of the world’s major newspapers, and most notably his study on the fake Twitter followers of companies and politicians [LINK] – [LINK] – [LINK]
He is CEO and Founder of Speakage [LINK], a company that develops white label web platforms such as Social Networks, WebTV, Social Media, Viral platforms and so on, for major international companies. In the UK he founded Digitalground Ltd. [LINK], a company that produces B2C start-ups which have developed successful websites. He founded DigitalEvaluations Ltd. [LINK], a company that evaluates the real value of Social Media for companies and celebrities. He founded MCCWDC (MCC Worldwide Digital Consulting Ltd.) [LINK] a company that provide worldwide advisoring in digital marketing and communication.
In his publications he also co-authored the book “Impresa 4.0 – Marketing e Comunicazione Digitale a 4 Direzioni” with Prof. Franco Giacomazzi, published by the FINANCIAL TIMES. [LINK] He is a contributor to specialist magazine.
He has carried out numerous B2C web projects over the course of his 20-year career: the first Italian social network, Internetworkcity; EnergyBank, the world’s first virtual currency; the multiplatform TV/Web talk show www.digitalk.tv; and innovative platforms produced by Speakage.com. He also founded the international signature-gathering platform livepetitions.com, now available in 10 countries around the world, with the Italian and French versions (www.firmiamo.it and www.jesigne.fr) leaders in their sector and other international products.
He is one of the group of experts asked to draw up a policy document for the Veneto Region’s Digital Agenda. He is a member of the board for Innovation in Tourism set up by the Ministry for Tourism. He is a member of Mensa (the international association for high-IQ individuals) [LINK], as well as AISM (Italian Marketing Association) and IWA (International Web Association) and the board of Associazione Nord-Est Digitale.
From January 2012 he participates in the news program on RTL 102.5 Radio Television (first radio television in Italy in terms of audience) every Thursday morning at 8:35 a.m. as an expert in digital.
